A Bay Area native, Noel carries a family legacy that most people only read about. His father, Leon Patillo, was the lead vocalist for Santana during their landmark 1970s run, performing across the U.S., Europe, and Japan before leaving at the height of his career to pioneer Contemporary Christian Music — sharing stages and friendships with Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Natalie Cole, and hosting his own show on TBN. His brother, Gabe Patillo, spent over 20 years as a core member of TobyMac’s Diverse City Band, one of the most celebrated ensembles in Christian music.
Music wasn’t something Noel had to chase. It was already running through him.
